About Savannah
Hi, I’m a native English speaker from Canada, currently pursuing my university degree in Business after a last-minute switch from Computer Science.
Because I am 17 years old and a recent high school graduate (thanks to a late birthday!), the material your child is studying is incredibly fresh in my mind. I know exactly what it takes to succeed in today's curriculum. In high school, I took my academics very seriously, tackling intensive math and physics workloads. This gives me a unique, highly logical, and structured approach to teaching English reading and writing.
Because I study fully online, I offer exceptional scheduling flexibility to easily fit into your busy calendar. When I’m not studying or tutoring, I love exploring a mix of technical and creative hobbies:
-Coding & Tech: I still love programming from my CS days, which inspired my interactive, tech-forward teaching style.
-Learning New Languages: This gives me a deep empathy for foreign/ESL learners because I know firsthand what it's like to pick up a new language.
-Crocheting & Making Music: These teach me the patience and creativity that I bring to every single lesson!
I bridge the gap between a strict teacher and a supportive peer! I use my tech background to make online lessons highly collaborative, turning learning into something your child will actually look forward to :)

About My Lessons
My Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I use a highly visual and collaborative style to keep online learning active and engaging. Instead of lecturing, I use free interactive digital whiteboards and live screen-sharing so we can both draw, type, and edit text simultaneously in real-time. My method focuses heavily on active learning; we use on-the-spot diagnostic questions, live proofreading, and conversational prompts to build instant confidence.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each 60-minute session is structured to keep students focused and moving:
- 0–10 mins: Conversational Warm-Up. A low-pressure oral exercise to practice speaking flow and review previous concepts.
- 10–25 mins: Concept Modeling. Using a shared screen to visually break down a grammar rule, reading strategy, or essay structure.
- 25–50 mins: Collaborative Practice. Jumping onto a shared digital whiteboard where the student and I actively co-write, sketch out essay plans, and tackle practice questions together.
- 50–60 mins: Feedback & Wrap-Up. Celebrating the day's progress and highlighting a few key takeaways for them to remember.
