About Mel
I received a 1:1 in BSc Biomedical Sciences from the University of Kent and have tutored students throughout my degree and afterwards. I am particularly skilled in Immunology but have specialist knowledge in many other areas of human biology, and can support students up to BSc level in Biology or related subjects.
I led a group of third year university students during their final year project, providing both feedback and support on their dissertations. All of the students achieved minimum 2:1 grades, with the majority achieving 1:1. I have also provided tutoring and feedback on individual pieces of work, and my students have achieved a minimum of 2:1 on all pieces of work.

I predominantly offer lessons to A level and University students, but I also offer GCSE level. I am currently offering both in person and remote tutoring, depending on the student's requirements.
I structure my lessons based around the student's strengths and according to their individual learning style - visual, auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic (referred to as the VARK model). For example, auditory learners work well with instructive videos, visual learners work well with concept diagrams, and read/write learners work well with written notes and examples. I aim to help my students understand what they are learning and apply it instead of just retaining the knowledge for the relevant test. I can provide support on individual pieces of work or on a subject overall, depending what the student requires.
