About Tahmina
I am a highly motivated and hard working individual who strives to provide successful progress for my students. I have recently been awarded PGCE and outstanding QTS in Biology, alongside tutoring privately at home. Whilst completing my placement years and tutoring privately, consistent progress has been made within Science and Maths. My students are able to comfortably tell me their needs and I take into consideration on what works best for individual students, providing good quality feedback.

I provide lessons for both KS3 and KS4 students in Maths and Biology. Research shows that students do better when teachers have high expectations. I have instilled this in my practice during my teaching by stretching and challenging my students with stimulating methods of teaching. I encourage students to do independent research by looking at a variety of texts, asking students wider questions by encouraging students to move from factual to conceptual knowledge and push them to make connections. I also use visual, kinaesthetic, as well as memory retrieval questions, especially in my starters and plenaries. Furthermore, most of my teaching revolves around exam questions and techniques and how to successfully structure and answer them. Therefore, I will be determined to ensure your child's future academic success and enable them to reach levels that weren't open to them before.
