About Ava
I earned my Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from the University of Utah, where I spent several semesters assisting K–12 outreach programs and supporting high-school students preparing for advanced science coursework. With 7 years of teaching, especially online, I’ve developed a calm, practical teaching style that helps students truly understand biological systems. Parents often tell me I make science “feel like something their child can actually master.”

I make Biology approachable by connecting each concept to something students already understand. Microbiology becomes a look at the tiny organisms around us; Cell Biology becomes a blueprint for life; Physiology becomes the systems that keep us alive every day; Genetics becomes the patterns within families; and Biotechnology becomes a window into tomorrow’s innovations.
I explain everything in a friendly, straightforward way—avoiding heavy jargon—and help students build a scientific understanding that prepares them well for college-level biology. My lessons are slow, steady, and full of real-life examples, which helps students feel confident instead of overwhelmed.
