About Erin
I have been giving lessons for roughly two years. I began giving lessons in elementary school math to a boy through his fourth and fifth grade years. I would occasionally help his older sister of middle school age with her science homework and science fair projects. I have helped my sister with all of her science projects. I would often sit with friends and classmates in high school to help them and would help college classmates of mine as well. I have taught about five-ten students of varying ages. While I have never been an official tutor with a school or company, I have spent many late nights with children around the area teaching them everything I knew. People that I have tutored have all seen wonderful improvements in their test grades and overall class scores.

My name is Erin White. I am a student at Salisbury University studying Biology and Secondary Education. Biology and Teaching are both subjects that I am incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about. I am offering tutoring services to elementary, middle, and high school students in the field of Biology. I am willing to assist students with any tutoring needs of other science related subjects upon request (physics, chemistry, physical science, etc...). I am a kinesthetic learner, and the first thing I intend to do with most students is ask them some questions to determine how they learn best. I try to encompass all learning aspects into a lesson, to allow students to learn materials from different perspectives using all 5 senses if possible. I like to play educational games and will occasionally find short video clips for them to watch in order to better understand specifics that may be difficult for me to demonstrate. I will often tell students funny subject related jokes or have them come up with silly pneumonic devices to remember important information. I am an enthusiastic teacher and I am constantly finding new ways to keep students active and engaged.
