About Swaroop
I'm Swaroop, a PhD researcher in Molecular Biology at BITS-Pilani Hyderabad, where I study cell signaling in the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. Alongside my own research, I teach practicals to undergrad and postgrad students at BITS, so I've spent real time in front of students explaining exactly the concepts they tend to get stuck on.
My training spans cell and parasite culture, gene cloning and editing, protein expression, confocal microscopy, Western blotting, and proteomics workflows through to LC-MS — much of it sharpened during a year-long exchange at Humboldt University and the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, plus an earlier Humboldt fellowship. That mix of Indian and European lab experience shapes how I explain things: less rote memorization, more "here's how this actually gets used." If you're looking for someone who can connect what's in your syllabus to how it plays out on the bench, I'd be glad to help.

My sessions are built around one idea: biology sticks better when you understand why it's used, not just what it says in the chapter. I teach Biology, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology for school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students — covering everything from core genetics, cell biology, and biochemistry to more advanced topics like gene cloning, PCR/qPCR, protein expression and purification, signaling pathways, and recombinant DNA technology.
Rather than lecturing straight from a textbook, I bring in real examples from active research — including my own work on parasite cell biology — so concepts land in context. Sessions are conversational and paced to what you actually need: exam and viva prep, catching up on a topic you're stuck on, help with practical write-ups, or guidance on a project or thesis. I also work comfortably with data-driven biology, so if you want your concepts backed by how the data actually behaves, I can bring that in too. Classes are available online in English, Hindi, or Telugu.
