About Alicia
Hi, I'm Alicia. I'm a professional environmental educator. In addition, I have been tutoring K-12 and university math, science and English since 2012. I graduated with a BSc in environmental science from Simon Fraser University, Canada. In university, my dedication and effective study methods earned me a 3.86 GPA. With my strong understanding of the subjects I tutor, I explain concepts clearly and adapt to each student's learning style to help them build confidence and improve their grades.

Our first session starts with a review of your child's history in the subject, including their strengths and what they'd like to improve. Next, we identify an area to start working on, and begin with a review and assessment of their current knowledge. I adjust my lessons based on what they already know and which gaps need to be filled in to bolster their understanding of the subject.
Sessions have a mixture of instructions and practical questions for the child to work on with me. Knowledge and skills are built in increments as the child shows increasing proficiency with each type of question. Homework can also be assigned as needed. Together, I work with you and your child to help make learning easier so they can achieve their goals.
