About Michael
My lessons are designed to build deep understanding, not just short-term memorization. Students learn how scientific processes work and why they matter, using creativity, real-world examples, and clear conceptual frameworks to make challenging material accessible and engaging. This approach helps students connect ideas across topics, think critically, and retain knowledge long after exams are over.
With 15+ years of experience teaching high school and college science—including Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology—instruction is informed by both advanced subject-matter expertise and proven educational practice. As a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology with an M.Ed. in Secondary Education, lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, learning style, and academic level.
Extensive familiarity with AP science curricula and exams, especially AP Biology, ensures focused and effective exam preparation. Students receive targeted support with experimental design, data analysis, and free-response questions, along with strategies for time management and test confidence. This approach has a proven record of strong AP scores, exam pass rates, and students earning college credit while still in high school.
