About Bec
With my background in science, I take a compounded, factual approach to teaching these subjects. I am patient and kind, meaning we can break each concept down into as many parts needed to facilitate your understanding. With my background in Speech and Language Therapy, we have modules where we discussed the science of learning and the psychology of this. I take the approaches presented to me during my Masters and apply them to each student I teach, giving each individual tailored tutoring that is designed to maximise their learning in order to reach the desired goal. The above also means that I want my tutees to feel comfortable advocating for themselves and if they need to take breaks in a 1 hour session, I can adapt to allow e.g. the session is set out as 1 hour but +15mins additional without charge.

For whatever subject you would like help in, I always begin my lessons with a free session where we can discuss long and short term goals, your type of learning, the frequency of sessions etc. I tutored students in GCSE Biology and Chemistry as well as GCSE English Lit/Lang during my undergraduate degree. As such, I have a breadth of experience tutoring a range of ages and ensure I come to each session prepared and motivated for us to work together for you to achieve your full potential! The typical length of sessions will be 1 hour. But I am happy to negotiate this.
