About Hannah
Hi my name is Hannah and I am a recent biochemistry graduate from Elon University. Over the last two years I have tutored students in organic chemistry and led recitation sessions as well.
I understand that chemistry can be challenging, but with the right guidance it becomes much easier and even enjoyable. My goal is that my students build a strong foundation in the basics so that when they get to the tougher concepts they can rely on what they know and problem solving to truly understand and tackle difficult problems.
My sessions are personalized and I am a big fan of using practice problems and examples to help me assist in your understanding.

My approach to tutoring is centered on helping students truly understand the content they are studying and to not just memorize it.
I tailor my approach to each student and their learning styles. Typically I like to work through practice problems with my students and see where they need the most assistance. From there I take a step back and develop problem-solving strategies for the question.
I know in organic chemistry many students struggle with reaction mechanisms, and one way I help my students is by identifying common mechanistic steps that make solving the overall reaction much simpler.
Most of my experience is in tutoring college students, but I have some with high school students as well.
