I am currently earning my degree in Spanish and plan to study abroad next year. Moving to a foreign country where I do not have a complete understanding of the culture or language is quite intimidating. However thanks to my teammate and friend Martin, I have grown in my confidence. As a foreign exchange student himself, originating from Colombia and studying in the United States, he fully understands the difficulties of learning a new language and calling a foreign place home. Over the past year Martin has served as my mentor in learning the Spanish language. We have had many conversations regarding complex grammar rules and vocabulary. My fluency in the language has grown exponentially from our conversations.
