About Anaïs

GENERAL ENGLISH

Franco-American and holder of a license in English (Foreign Language, Literature and Civilization or LLCE in English) from Sorbonne University, I am familiar with English both as a mother tongue and as a foreign language. I am thus able to offer my help on accent, pronunciation, and idiomatic and cultural expressions as well as on English grammar, syntax and phonetics, at all levels.

My two years of studies in the United Kingdom at the prestigious University College London (UCL) and London School of Economics (LSE) have allowed me to acquire a particularly rich and sharp English. I am therefore in a good position to support people who particularly wish to improve their English, both written and oral.

After practicing the debate in English for several years and participating in numerous international competitions, I taught debate for a year to elementary and middle school students in a charitable organization in London. I am therefore also well placed to help anyone wishing to gain confidence in speaking in English or to prepare for oral examinations.

Trained in translation during my English studies at Sorbonne, and having translate many documents during my professional experiences (London NGO, International Criminal Court), I am also able to offer my help for the translation of all types of documents.

PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC ENGLISH:

During my studies, I was led to apply successfully to the two British universities (University College London in license, and the London School of Economics in master) and a master's program in English at Sciences Po Paris. I also took the TOEFL twice with marks of 110/120 and 112/120.

At the same time, I have multiplied my professional experiences in the English-speaking world. I was successively an intern for the London NGO “WONDER”, research assistant for the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics, and I am currently an intern at the International Criminal Court.

Through these different applications, I developed an excellent knowledge of the application codes in English and an ability to meet the professional and academic requirements of the English-speaking world. It is this expertise that I am able to bring to anyone wishing to apply for university programs in English or job offers in English.

About the lesson

Training methods: remote

I deliver courses exclusively online on Skype of Zoom using platforms such as Google Drive and Google Slides, and by sharing audiovisual content which remains accessible to the student afterwards the course in order to guarantee a quality and lasting learning of English.

The frequency and duration of the lessons (minimum 1 hour) are flexible and adapted to the needs of the student.

My teaching adapts to each person and to their objectives, whatever their level (rather mastery of oral or written language, progress in a school or professional context, be able to express oneself in a particular context or field or acquire the basics for all situations ...).

GENERAL ENGLISH

I organize my course according to the objectives formulated by the student while favoring an organic teaching of English to using documents taken from the real English-speaking world (press article, academic article, film extract , song, youtube video, extract from a book, etc.) and relating to subjects or areas of interest to the pupil.

In agreement with the student, I also give homework to be handed in before the next class as well as personalized corrections in writing and speaking.

PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH AND ACADEMIC:

I like to give the student concrete examples of successful cover letters or CVs in English, while guaranteeing support in writing or a rigorous proofreading of form and content. [ N]
To prepare for exams or oral exams, I prefer scenarios with mock exams or oral exams after which the student receives detailed feedback on their performance and the points to be reviewed.
