I always follow a ladder methodology, meaning, unless we understand the fundamentals, we don't proceed or jump to the next level. Drops fill the ocean. He was able to single out the important topics for me to cover and was able to explain the concepts I was struggling with in a way that made a lot more sense than my prof ever did.
