About Chloe
I scored a 1500 [First go with no preparation: 1380; second go, three months later: 1500] on the SAT, strong in math through Calc 2, scored 5 on AP Physics C (with calc) exam and self-study physics obsessively, and have three years of experience tutoring high school students (one-on-one) in math and physics. I'm taking a gap year (deferred admission) before going to UC Berkeley for a BA in Physics. I've spent the time working at a startup built around patent-protected software for nonprofit donations, programming a solar-position calculator (deriving the equations myself), studying for the PCAP (Python Certified Associate Programmer), and basking in slower days. I spent a good portion of the summer tutoring my younger brother, a senior this year, for the SAT (bringing his score from 1240 to 1410), during which I developed a systematic, individualized approach to close gaps in score.

My SAT approach rests on the conviction that in order to win, you study the test. We begin with diagnostics with extensive analysis/tracking of results and conditions, and look to the patterns beneath each missed question. Then, sessions are built around the student’s individual weak points, studying the foundational material and utilizing test strategies (all detailed in a master document I share with the student.)
In math and physics, I try to follow in style with those I admire in the fields (Feynman, Susskind, 3Blue1Brown), who treat the formula as a consequence of understanding the idea, and explain complex and intricate things very plainly. Because I genuinely love physics and the mathematics behind it, I teach it as I see it: something beautiful and exciting and universal.
In short: my aim in every session is that a student ends with notably greater understanding, sharper method, and, ideally, a better opinion of the subject. All through honest, patient effort from both of us. I keep my schedule small so every student gets my full attention. If you’d like to begin, book a short intro session and we’ll take it from there.
