About Disha
I am a patient and enthusiastic tutor who believes that learning should be interactive and enjoyable. Instead of only focusing on textbooks, I use simple activities, examples, and discussions to help students understand concepts clearly. My goal is to build strong foundations and make students curious about what they learn. My Teaching Approach
My approach to teaching focuses on helping students truly understand concepts rather than simply memorizing what is written in a textbook. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. Therefore, I use a combination of interactive activities, practical examples, and clear explanations to make learning engaging and meaningful.
Teaching Techniques and Methods
I use activity-based and concept-driven teaching methods. Instead of starting directly with definitions, I introduce topics through simple and fun activities that allow students to discover the concept themselves. For example, when teaching verbs to primary school students, I may conduct an activity where action words are written on slips and placed in a jar. Students pick one slip and act it out while others guess the action. Through this activity, students naturally understand that these are action words, after which I introduce the formal concept of verbs. This approach helps students remember concepts better and enjoy the learning process.
I also adapt my teaching methods based on the student’s level and learning style. I use storytelling, visual examples, questioning techniques, and real-life situations to make concepts easier to understand.
Structure of a Typical Class
A typical class is structured in three stages:
Engagement (Activity/Warm-up): The class begins with a short activity, question, or example related to the topic to spark curiosity and involvement.
Concept Explanation: Once students are engaged, I explain the concept clearly using examples, visuals, and simple language appropriate for the student’s level.
Practice and Reinforcement: Students then practice through exercises, discussions, or small tasks to ensure they understand the concept. I also encourage students to ask questions and participate actively.
