About Lucas
I am "Lucas" Mah Jing Xiang I love the language of math, and like a lot of people, don't like homework. I independently study mathematics myself, not with a school textbook, but books made for mathematics as a whole, not for the exam.
I believe learning is done through deep logical understanding and more importantly, rest. Because rest is where your brain creates deeper connections and memory. That is why I teach for short times - eg. 30 mins. So you don't get burnt out, and you can do more reflecting on the logic in the back of your head.
I'm not just a nerd, though. When I’m not diving into number theory, you’ll find me at my home gym or in a racing sim. I apply the same focus and discipline from fitness and racing to how I tackle my studies - speedy and with absolute focus.

• I teach in a simplified format, using simplified terms and analogies to help the learner understand as easily as possible, achieving the "Aha" in their minds, locking in the logic.
• I skip the boring rote memorization. Instead, I teach the logical "why" behind the math, making it much easier to remember and apply to different problems.
• I aim to teach for 30 minutes. Short, but understandable.
• The short "sprint" style lessons are for MAXIMUM retention of information. As long sessions could cause burnout or a loss in interest.

Lucas has been teaching me core subjects for a while. I'm his little brother, and lowkey he's been teaching very well. I could even consider he's better than my teachers. He specializes in math and physics, and I recommend going to him if you need help understanding what teachers don't teach.
Lucas has helped teach me for years now. Recently, he helped me catch up on the 3 months I missed in school, and now I'm excelling in secondary school despite the setback in January. His teaching methods are really interactive, which makes me remember things easily. Overall he's great for students like me who learn visually.
