About Geryko

I am currently serving as a Licensed Special Education Teacher with the Department of Education in the Philippines. I hold both Basic and Advanced American Sign Language (ASL) certifications. With 10 years of experience teaching children with special needs and 5 years of classroom teaching experience, I bring extensive expertise in delivering inclusive, student-centered instruction that supports diverse learning needs.

️4-Week Beginner ASL Curriculum

Week 1: Foundations & Fingerspelling

Objectives:
-Understand what ASL is and how it differs from English
-Learn the ASL alphabet
-Begin basic greetings and introductions

Lesson 1: Introduction to ASL & Deaf Culture
What is ASL? (Not “signed English”)
Brief history of ASL

Lesson 2: ASL Alphabet (Fingerspelling)
A–Z handshapes
Numbers 1–10
Practice spelling names

Lesson 3: Basic Greetings & Introductions

Week 2: Basic Conversation & Everyday Signs

Objectives:
-Build conversational skills
-Learn common questions
-Understand basic ASL grammar features
