About Isabella
Hello! I'm Isabella, a first-class law graduate from the University of Liverpool. I received a graduation prize for achieving the highest mark in one of my modules, and I am now studying the Bar course alongside a joint master's degree, for which I was awarded a scholarship.
I achieved an A* in Sociology at A level and top marks throughout sixth form, and I regularly helped fellow students to do well too. I know what it takes to reach the top grades and how to prepare for the exams. I am very interested in current affairs and society, which is what makes sociology come alive for me, and I use real-world examples to help students understand and remember the theories. Studying law has also given me strong skills in research, critical analysis and clear, persuasive writing, which are exactly what earn high marks in sociology essays.
Outside my studies, I captained my university netball team, which taught me leadership, communication and how to bring out the best in others. I am patient, well organised and approachable. My aim is to make every lesson clear, supportive and productive, so that students feel confident going into their exams and enjoy the subject along the way.

I know first-hand what examiners reward, and I teach sociology in a clear, structured way that builds confidence as well as grades.
How I teach:
Each topic is broken down into core theories, key studies and the sociologists you need to know, so nothing feels overwhelming.
I focus on essay technique: planning, building an argument, evaluating theories and using the AO1/AO2/AO3 marking criteria to pick up top marks.
We practise with past-paper questions and I give detailed feedback on written work, so you can see exactly how to improve.
I use real-world examples to make concepts such as education, crime and deviance, families and research methods easier to understand and remember.
Lessons are tailored to your exam board and to whatever you find hardest, whether that's remembering evidence or writing longer answers.
My lessons usually last 60 minutes. I'm happy to do 90-minute sessions closer to exams.
I will teach GCSE and A level students at any level, from those who need help getting started to those aiming for the top grades!
