About Olivia
I did my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and am currently in the 5th year of my PhD program. I have a lot of experience with biology at many levels. I have worked with undergrads, spending a lot of time doing practice problems and finding the ways they learn best. I have also done this with high school students. I think finding someone to take the time to break content down is important, and I strive to keep finding ways to teach that work for each student. I am very detailed and put a lot of effort into preparation for lessons. I am also very punctual, so I will not be late. I am also flexible with different schedules. I care a lot about helping students build confidence and learn, and I love feedback on how I can help you learn better.

I love the life sciences and biology. I have a passion for helping people achieve their goals, build confidence, and earn great grades along the way. I have taught biology at the undergraduate and high school levels. In the first meeting, I like to get an idea of what the course covers and determine where the student is struggling. This allows me to review the material and identify ways to teach the student in their preferred way. Each lesson will start by reviewing the material and what they are currently struggling with, then move on to new material. This balances reinforced learning along with exposure to new content to prepare for upcoming classes. When I was in college, finding a tutor who adapted to me made all the difference. I find it invaluable to go over content before class so the student is already primed for the material, which really makes a difference in learning. I am very adaptable, whether it is generating diagrams for visual learners or finding analogies and other methods that work for the student.
