About Elizabeth

With over 18 years of teaching experience, Ms. E. Hutt brings a blend of structure, encouragement, and creativity to every lesson. She is an award winning Royal Conservatory of Music–certified teacher who has guided countless students from their very first notes to advanced RCM examinations, helping them develop strong technique, musical expression, and a lifelong love of music.

Ms. Hutt teaches private students of all ages at the Markham and Scarborough home studios, as well as offering in-home lessons in the east end of York Region. Whether preparing for exams, performing in recitals, or simply learning for enjoyment, her students benefit from a solid foundation in both performance and theory. Her approach combines clear, achievable goals with fun, age-appropriate activities that build confidence and foster a love for music from the very start.

Passionate about student success, Ms. Hutt has a keen eye for recognizing each learner’s strengths and areas for growth. She believes in celebrating progress, fostering consistent practice habits, and building the skills that empower students to express themselves at the piano for years to come.

About the lesson

Learning the foundation of piano is the key to success. I present every concept in small pieces so students don't feel overwhelmed. My students have been successful in competitions, examinations, and recitals each year. Many of my lessons end in a fun activity. We practice techniques like ear training, sight reading, and games to help my students leave the lesson happy and excited to come back.

Great first lesson. We were able to assess where to continue her education with ease. Her daughter was responsive and eager to learn more. I can't wait to for our next lesson!

Miss Hutt is an extraordinary teacher. She is very experienced and also very knowledgeable on piano theory. My child has been going to Miss Hutt for a few years, and by far she is the best teacher. She is able to keep my child engaged and also keep him focused on the material at hand. I don't think I would choose any other teacher in the world. She is truly amazing! Would recommend her to anyone in a heart beat! Thanks for the amazing work you are doing!!
