About Amanda
Hi, I'm Amanda! I'm a former public school teacher with eight years of classroom experience teaching AP World History, AP US History, and AVID, including at a specialized academy for highly gifted students.
I hold a master's degree in educational leadership and policy. My students consistently earned a 90%+ pass rate on AP history exams and a 100% pass rate on the STAAR EOC. I was honored to be voted Senior Class Favorite Teacher and named a 2020 Texas Teacher Superstar by Governor Abbott.
Today I work as a Learning and Development Strategist, designing training programs for adult professionals. That work keeps me current on how people learn best, and I bring the same structure, preparation, and professionalism to every tutoring session.

Hi, I'm Amanda! I taught AP World History, AP US History, and AVID for eight years, including at an academy for highly gifted students. I believe every student can succeed with the right tools.
My teaching method: History is about understanding why things happened, not memorizing dates. I teach students to analyze sources, build strong arguments, and see the big picture, using timelines, guided questions, and real exam-style practice.
A typical lesson: Every lesson starts by tying our topic to its key concept, whether from the AP Course and Exam Description, the Texas TEKS, or your class curriculum. Then we review where you're stuck, practice with documents, essays, or exam questions while I give real-time feedback, and finish with a recap and a goal for next time.
What sets me apart: My students earned a 90%+ AP history pass rate and a 100% STAAR EOC pass rate. I was voted Senior Class Favorite Teacher, named a 2020 Texas Teacher Superstar by Governor Abbott, and hold a master's in educational leadership and policy.
