About Mikhail
I have been a university professor of Creative Writing for over 35 years. I am also a winner of the Guggenheim Fellowship, among other awards. I am a frequent contributor to newyorker.com, among many other publications. My books have received praise from scores of publications, including The New York Times and The NYT Book Review. George Saunders has called me "a force for good in the world." I also have been the founding director of the most dynamic and innovative international literary/writing programs in Russia/Kenya/Lithuania/Georgia/Canada.
