About Arash

I'm an AI engineer — PhD in Machine Learning, B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering — with 20+ years of teaching experience across three continents. Today I focus on one thing: helping professionals actually adopt AI in their work, not just talk about it.

After five-plus years building machine-learning systems in industry, I learned that the hard part of AI was never the algorithms — it's people. Most professionals don't need to learn to code; they need to know which AI tools to trust, how to direct them well, how to weave them into their real workflow in finance, marketing, and management — and where the limits and risks are. That's exactly what I teach.

I've worked with every kind of learner, from "please just get me through this" to "I want to be the person everyone comes to for answers." Whatever your starting point, I'll meet you there — with patience and a plan.

We start with a working session on your actual situation — your course syllabus, project deadline, codebase, or career goal — and I map out a plan to get you there. Then every lesson is hands-on: we debug your real assignments, build your real projects, and practice with the real tools (Python, PyTorch, modern AI coding assistants), so you leave each session with working code and a concept you actually own.

Beyond passing the course, I'll show you how professionals now work with AI day-to-day — using it to write, review, and reason about code without letting it think for you. No prerequisites; all levels welcome. I also share free practice material on my gamified learning platform, ArtaQuest dot org.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by electricity and the amazing things I can do with them. So my curiosity has led me to learn and build more complex electrical systems. During my second year of undergrad is when I learned that Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ultimate edge of what electricity can do. So my search has ended, and I found my ultimate calling.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I believe in a utopia that has automated all jobs except being a student and teacher!
And AI is the key to achieving this dream. So I am all in on this.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

To pursue my dream of studying Electrical Engineering at the university, I had to persevere a lot since the odds were against me!
Where I come from, Electrical Engineering is the most demanded degree, and good educational institutes are very scarce. So it meant that interest was playing no role in admission. You either needed a well-off parent who could find you private tutors and send you to paid schools or to have exceptional talent in Math. I didn't have either, as my parents couldn't afford a single dime for my education, and I don't have a good working memory to do mental Math. So here is where I fell in love with the tutoring career since it was the only way to study what I liked. As the students in my school were generally weak in STEM fields, there was a lot of demand for tutoring in my network. I could go to their houses and study as much as possible with them. In addition, this allowed me to contribute to our household financially and have more freedom to convince my parents to let me live on my own in another city for university.

Things went differently than my plan since I couldn't get accepted into Electrical Engineering. I got accepted to another Engineering program in the most competitive school with a scholarship. And I've been told I could transfer after the first year if I do well. That was a lie; even after receiving perfect grades in first-year engineering, they didn't let me transfer (the explanation was that I didn't have high enough entrance exam scores!). But I didn't give up! I continued studying Electrical Engineering on my own and then applied to the second-top university (which was private and expensive, so I had little hope). I could not believe it when I heard that I got admitted with a full scholarship; it was the happiest moment in my life. So I had to start from the beginning as my previous grades were not transferred. So I took full advantage of it and resumed my tutoring career, which kicked off at this point since I didn't need to work extra hard (I'd mastered the courses in the previous school). Also, students were used to private tutoring being an expensive school. Also, after the first and second years, I became the official teaching assistant of courses and fell in love with teaching again.
Here's a picture of me teaching Electrical Engineering in my second year of undergrad.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Grant Sanderson of the 3Blue1Brown YouTube channel.
He showed us that learning should be curiosity-driven and visual animations are key to inciting curiosity in the virtual world.
  • What are your keys to success?

A clear vision of the future and perseverance. Because of my vivid daydreams, I am not deterred by setbacks and end up fulfilling the prophecy. And since there are only students and teachers in my utopia, I am destined to be a great one!
