About Justyna
I’m an art historian and tutor with an MA from the University of Groningen, combining strong academic training with practical experience across galleries, cultural institutions, publishing, and public programs. My professional background includes curatorial and research work with Common Arts Foundation Warsaw, freelance writing for Contemporary Lynx Magazine, and exhibition support roles in Australian galleries. Academically, my interests span European art history, object biographies, museum studies, and the relationship between art, psychology, and belief systems. I’m particularly passionate about education that connects historical knowledge with contemporary creative practice.

My lessons are engaging, conversation-based, and tailored to each student’s academic goals and creative interests. I focus on building a strong foundation in art history while encouraging critical thinking, visual analysis, and open discussion. For visual arts students, I actively connect historical ideas with contemporary practice, helping them explore themes, techniques, and conceptual approaches that can strengthen their own creative work.
I take time to understand what inspires each student — whether that’s theory, writing, or studio practice — and adapt lessons accordingly. We explore key movements and artists, make links across cultures and time periods, and relate artworks to wider social and philosophical contexts. I also encourage learning beyond the classroom through museum and gallery visits, sketching exercises, and reflective discussion, supporting students to develop both confidence and curiosity as emerging thinkers and artists.
