About Tyler

Tyler Danielle Potter is a British artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, constructed textiles, mixed-media installation, curation and creative writing.

She graduated with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts (Canterbury) in 2020, where she was awarded the CRATE Studio and Project Space Graduate Award. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a placement at Cyprus College of Art and held her first solo exhibition, Soft and Found, at The Brewery Tap Project Space in Folkestone.

Following her BA, Potter spent three years living and travelling across Europe aboard a 28ft sailboat. This formative period deepened her relationship with landscape, sensory experience and cross-cultural exchange, themes that continue to inform her practice. During this time, she developed her work independently, taking commissions and building her understanding of sustainable creative enterprise.

In 2024, she completed her MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art. While at the RCA, her work was presented at a Tate Lates event and she curated a group exhibition featuring sixteen artists as part of her research into collaborative and community-led practice.

Alongside her studio work, Potter mentors art and design students, including BA and MA applicants developing conceptual portfolios for leading art schools. Drawing on her experience as an exhibiting artist, RCA graduate and educator, she supports emerging artists in refining their visual language, articulating critical positions, sequencing work and building confidence throughout their studies. Her approach is structured, supportive and personalised, shaped by experience working with neurodivergent students.

She continues to expand her practice through exhibitions, commissions, experimental writing and research-driven projects.

My art creative wellbeing sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities, offering a supportive space that encourages self-expression and experimental creativity. These sessions are all about process, not the final product - making space for play, reflection and emotional release through art.

The aim is to access meditative flow states that bring the mind and body into the present moment. Engaging in personal creative exploration can help you reconnect with yourself, and my sessions provide a nurturing, non-judgemental environment in which to begin your journey.

Our sessions may involve some or all of the following:
- Therapeutic arts and crafts (drawing, painting, collage, clay etc.)
- Mindful colouring
- Doodling and automatic drawing
- Journalling prompts
- Creative writing
- Gentle discussion of life experiences (if you feel comfortable sharing)

Expected outcomes:
- A greater sense of calm, relaxation and peacefulness
- Feeling seen, heard and supported
- Improved emotional awareness and understanding
- Knowledge of creative tools to support self-regulation

Contact me now to book your first session!

Please note: I am not a fully trained Art Psychotherapist and am not registered with the BAAT or HCPC. I do not offer therapy, diagnosis or treatment. My sessions use art as a therapeutic tool for mindfulness and self-expression.
