About Olivia

Hi! My name is Olivia and I’m currently studying Psychology at the University of Manchester. Sociology has always been one of my favourite subjects because of how relevant and interesting it is to everyday life and society, and I really enjoyed studying it at both GCSE and A-Level. Alongside Sociology, I also studied Psychology and Graphics, which helped me develop strong essay writing, analytical and revision skills.

Having recently completed the Sociology course myself, I understand how stressful essay subjects, revision and exams can sometimes feel. I know how important it is not only to understand the content, but also to feel confident with exam technique, essay structure and time management. Throughout my studies, I developed effective revision methods and techniques that helped me improve my confidence and understanding of the subject. I achieved a grade 7 in GCSE Sociology and an A at A-Level, and I now want to help other students feel more confident and supported in their own learning. My aim is to create lessons that feel encouraging, engaging and easy to understand, while helping students improve both their knowledge and their confidence in Sociology.

About the lesson

My classes take place online via Zoom, making lessons accessible and flexible for students anywhere in the UK. All lessons are one hour long and are tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. I use PowerPoints, active recall, essay planning, exam-style questions and revision activities to help students improve their understanding of Sociology and build confidence with exam technique.

My lessons are supportive, engaging and focused on making difficult sociological theories and concepts easier to understand. My tutoring is suitable for both GCSE and A-Level Sociology students.

I’ve been friends with Olivia throughout A-Level Sociology and she was honestly one of the main people I’d go to when I didn’t understand something. She’s really good at explaining difficult theories and essay structures in a way that actually makes sense without making you feel stupid for asking questions.
She’s super patient, supportive and organised, especially around exam season, and always had really good revision techniques and essay plans. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone doing GCSE or A-Level Sociology because she genuinely cares about helping people improve and feel more confident.
