About Sian

After achieving a First Class Master's Degree in Engineering from Oxford University, I worked for several years as a Design Engineer. However, my passion is for teaching, so I undertook a PGCE in Secondary Maths (Oxford, 2013). Since then I have taught maths at all levels, but particularly enjoy teaching GCSE, A-Level and above. I am experienced teaching in Secondary School and Further Education settings, and have also taught students on a one-to-one basis both online and in person.

About the lesson

I am an approachable and friendly maths teacher and Oxford University graduate. I believe that all students have the capability to understand maths and I am passionate about providing customised tuition that helps every individual reach their potential. I use a range of resources to suit the student's learning style - this includes interactive whiteboards, visualiser software, PowerPoint, videos, games, etc. I focus on building a student's confidence and the results follow naturally. I am also experienced teaching students with special needs, including those who lack the confidence to speak during an online lesson. I am able to accommodate and adapt accordingly.

Perfect! She's a very talented and approachable tutor. She can answer and explain the hardest questions in a simple way. She is very organised and plans around what you find difficult. She has been able to iron out any misconceptions my son has had. She has also been able to provide techniques in how to approach questions and solve them correctly. I would thoroughly recommend that you reach out to her. I'm sure you'll see how amazing she is!
