About Emily

I was living in China for 14 years, and I am a native speaker of Chinese. I attended the IB Chinese A Literature during high school and successfully got A for my Chinese Extended Essay. I was a teacher assistant in Brisbane Chinese School for two years, with the main responsibility of brainstorming weekly activities, helping children participate all the way through the class. I also helped the annul concert of Brisbane Chinese School as the director assistant.

About the lesson

By receiving education in Australia and China, I think different education systems and teaching style not only shapes students' academic performance but also their personalities. I believe the best teaching method a tutor should use is to fit the child's learning style. I would like to know a little bit more about my student before the first class, such as his/her main goals, demands, difficulties. After that I would make a detailed learning plan which contains both short-term goals and long-term goals. For each class, I will follow the learning plan, and inspire students to learn new knowledge and review old knowledge systematically. Besides, the exams and assessments are very important. Thus, I would like to provide exams and assessments concentrated classes before the due days.
