About Euan
From Glasgow. First class degree in undergraduate ancient history at the University of St Andrews. Distinction at masters level Classics also at the University of St Andrews. I am currently doing my PhD in ancient Greek and Persian history at the University of London. I have 2 years previous teaching and tutoring experience.

Ancient History PhD with a background in Greek and Persian History. I am happy to teach online or in person in Edinburgh or Glasgow. Topics I can help with include but are not limited to Greek history from the archaic to Hellenistic periods, Achaemenid Persia (550-330 BCE), and Roman history from the republic to empire. I am also experienced in working with Greek art (especially pottery), archaeology, and literature. Authors I have a particular interest in are Herodotus, Homer, Xenophon, Thucydides, and Ctesias. I can help students who are studying these texts in both ancient Greek and in translation. Outside of the ancient world, I am familiar with the SQA history curriculum. I took national 5, higher, and advanced higher history in high school (with a particular focus on modern German, Scottish, and British history). I am happy to help high school-level students with any subject covered by the history curriculum. More generally, I have completed two dissertations in my undergraduate and postgraduate studies (both of which achieved a high first). I would therefore be very keen to help students with essay and dissertation writing in any field of study. I also have a basic understanding of ancient Greek for students who want to brush up on their language skills!
