About Laura
I have a heart for teaching and pouring into others and their gifts to help them launch into being the best that they can be with courage and confidence. My goal is to help my students find the answers within to inspire independence and assurance in who they are as an artist. Becoming and artist is an art form and classes will challenge, stretch and inspire you to find out what that means for you and your future dreams. This will be my first time providing classes for photography and I cannot wait.

My teaching methods are based on the way my students will learn. Most classes will be structured with both research and practical tasks. Also learning the entire process of developing a body of work through to printing and exhibiting their works. Excursions will also be a part of the learning process whether that be as an individual or in a group. This will include the students to invest financially in their classes and tasks. I can teach individual students where they need assistance.
I will also be formulating a photography course which will include 8 sessions that run weekly. These sessions include learning to use your camera, lighting techniques, exploring different fields of photography and forming their own body of work. The assignments given to the students will also be based on photographers and work that inspires them individually and will require them to explain why in a sophisticated, academic manner. Presentations will be required by student of their works, whether that be in a group session, individually or via a PowerPoint presentation emailed to me (or sent on this platform if able). Student will also be taught how to launch their own website for portfolio or business use. The goal is to form a small group of a maximum of 6 people to work with whether we meet via webcam or possibly at a library (I will let you know where the ultimate place will be once we have formed numbers). If you wish to work solo please feel free to message me to discuss options.

Details
All cameras, film, printing costs, excursion fees, exhibition fees and any other costs for the class will need to be provided and covered by the students/payees. If you are having any financial difficulties, please let the teacher know to see if there is anyway to assist you. The teacher will try to keep all costs to a minimum for the benefits of the students.
If you wish to cancel your lessons please let the teacher know as soon as possible. There will be no cancellation fees however, if you have paid for all the lessons in advance you can only receive half of what you have paid back.
Once I am set up to provide webcam sessions and it is your preference, the travel costs will not be applied to you.
