About Max

Native English speaker, graduate of the University of Kentucky in international studies and Spanish (2016). Experience giving private English classes to Spanish speakers since 2012 and currently working as a conversation assistant in a public school in Bizkaia ages 5-12. Languages- Spanish near native level, Russian B1-B2, Basque A1. I can teach any level. I am very familiar with the admission process at American universities and can help with essays, ACT/SAT prep. I am also familiar with business English and am good at writing resumes and cover letters. I also enjoy teaching basic English for anyone interested but especially children.

About the lesson

I use different methodologies according to the specific needs of each student. In all of my classes I avoid translating words to the best of my abilities. My philosophy on language learning is that to learn a language well you have to start thinking in that language. Translating prevents us from doing so. In all of my classes I want the students to feel comfortable and to not be afraid to make mistakes.

Creo que poca gente puede haber mejor preparada que Max para dar clases de inglés. No es sólo un nativo sino que tiene la formación técnica necesaria. Además de ser un chico serio, agradable y responsable que ya ha ganado experiencia dando clases de ingles en diferentes edades. No creo que haya gente más adecuada que él para dar clases de idiomas, y sobre todo un inglés que pueda ser provechoso de la mano de un nativo.
