About Elsie

Hi, my name is Elsie. I have been studying for my RSL Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Music Practitioning (specialising in voice) for the last two years, but have been studying voice for around a decade. I am currently performing as a part of the choir for Les Miserable at the Bristol Hippodrome, and I am regularly out and about performing at a wide variety of places - from open mics to community concerts. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and with my skill in voice having developed greatly over the last few years, I want to be able to pass that knowledge on to other people. Singing is my greatest passion in life, bringing me much joy, a joy I want others to be able to feel too, and therefore I felt the best way I could do this would be teaching. If you choose me as your/your child’s vocal coach, I promise you that I will do everything in my power to help you feel that joy too, and to help you reach your fullest potential, as I believe anyone can be a star if they only try.

About the lesson

I offer hands-on lessons, catered to you/your child, focused on individual interests and skills. Whatever areas you are interested in, I will happily accommodate, with my most knowledgeable areas being musical theatre and classical.

While fairly new to the profession, I have been training in voice for around 10 years, with the last two focusing deeply on improving my own skills, and becoming equipped to teach others.

I am backed by a professional vocalist, who deems my teaching to be strong, and my knowledge engaging. I have received shining commendations from previous students, with their skill and confidence having greatly improved over the course of our lessons.

I am particularly good at working with children and young people. I volunteered at a kids club for around 18 months as a junior leader, leading songs at the front almost every week, and have completed work experience in a primary school, where I was a part of teaching music to the reception class. On top of this I have led a music-making workshop in a primary school, teaching a group of 60 years 5&6 students a completely new song and techniques in only 45 minutes. I therefore hope you can view me as experienced enough to teach your child.

I also have experience in teaching adults, regularly offering informal lessons and advice within my family and choirs that I am a part of. I hope to offer a positive, inclusive space for you or your child to learn and embrace your passion, growing your skills and confidence over the course of your lessons.

I can be as flexible as you need, offering my lessons virtual so there is no need to travel.
