My teaching approach for Algebra is built on step-by-step logic and systematic problem-solving. I start with the basics of variables and constants, then move to simplifying expressions, solving equations, and graphing linear functions. I use everyday examples like budgeting, distance-speed-time problems, and mixture calculations to show how algebra applies to real life. I break down each concept into small, manageable parts and ensure you master each step before moving to the next. For linear equations, I teach both graphical and algebraic methods, including slope-intercept form and point-slope form. I cover inequalities, absolute value equations, and systems of equations with substitution, elimination, and graphing methods. I also teach polynomial operations, factoring techniques including GCF, difference of squares, perfect square trinomials, and factoring by grouping. I cover rational expressions, operations, and solving rational equations. I provide detailed notes, formula sheets, and practice worksheets. I also use visual aids like number lines and graphs to make abstract concepts concrete. I assign homework that includes both routine and challenging problems. I conduct weekly quizzes to track progress and identify areas needing review. I also provide tips for avoiding common mistakes and managing exam time. I maintain a progress log for each student to ensure consistent improvement. My goal is to build your confidence and problem-solving skills in algebra.
