About Aisling
I have a degree in Microbiology and have recently submitted my PhD thesis in Infection Biology, where I was studying the bacterium Streptococcus gallolyticus.
During my 4 years of completing my PhD, I discovered that I thoroughly enjoyed teaching students in both labs and tutorials.
I am passionate about biology and I love to share this passion with students who are willing to learn. We will be studying the content, but we can also have some fun by creating diagrams and word maps and maybe some pop quizzes (with plenty of notice, don’t worry) to make sure my teaching method is suiting your needs.

I can provide lessons to students from ages 12 and up.
I have 4 years experience in teaching undergraduate students of UCD in biology, genetics, cell biology, immunology and biochemistry.
I have an in-depth knowledge of all things biology and base my teaching around establishing a concrete understanding of the material.
Following this, I provide the student with fun and imaginative ways to study and remember such material for exams. I base most of my sessions around diagram construction and words maps, and will finish each topic with a discussion of the main points.
If possible, I will go through example exam questions with the student to convey what examiners are looking for and how to go about answering such questions.
Lessons last 1 hour. Permitting student schedule, homework can be assigned and I will go through the answers with the student in the next session.
