About Samantha

I am a sound designer/writer/actress who recently acquired a journalism certificate as a passion project. From a young age I have been involved with theatre and was never able to shake the feeling that storytelling was my calling. I pursued training in Los Angeles first, then in São Paulo, where I was able to learn about Method Acting and Stanislavski and finally in Canada, where I graduated with honours from the acting program at Vancouver Film School, right before earning a BFA from UFV with two extended minors, one in Theatre and one in Media and Communication.

About the lesson

My sessions work more as a coaching experience for those looking to develop more confidence, which is definitely a key part of exceeding as an actor. I will explore the techniques that my student has learned before and dive deeper in those if they wish to have a more in depth experience or I will bring my own suggestions by choosing techniques that I know and that I believe would fit my student.

I can also help directors, writers and producers understand better their actors. When you put yourself in someone else' shoes, you are able to fully comprehend their work.

Excellent! I've only had one true session with her where we went over a monolog she gave me to send to her. She was super patient with me. I think everyone has nerves the first time you have to actually "act" in front of someone other that your reflection. She gave great feedback (especially for the first lesson) and she gave great explanations to things if you weren't sure what she was asking for. All in all, I will continue with Samantha and look forward to our next lesson!
