About Charlie

I have worked performing across Scotland, England and the US with such companies as The National Theatre London, National Theatre of Scotland, Dundee Rep, Royal Lyceum, Citizen’s Theatre and more. I was the touring Musical Director for the recent production of The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart which toured the US and completed a run Off-Broadway in New York and have much experience playing with various bands and artists in live and recording settings.

About the lesson

More and more productions across Scotland and the rest of the UK are hiring actors who can play musical instruments.

Do you want to gain a better understanding of what this means and what the role an actor-musician plays in a production? Maybe you want help with your actor musician repertoire? Do you have an audition coming up and need some advice on what to play?

These sessions will cover a range of topics which aims to develop your skill set and confidence.

This is aimed at people at all levels of musical ability. Maybe you can play a few chords on the guitar and want to develop these skills further to be able to confidently audition for an actor musician production. Perhaps you used to play an instrument and want to dust it off again. Maybe you have been playing for years but want some support on integrating your musicality into your acting work.

I offer 30 min and 1hr sessions either face to face in Edinburgh or online.
