About Esme
Hi, I’m Esme! I am a First-Class Master of Engineering (MEng) graduate in Engineering and Architectural Design from The Bartlett, UCL, with a strong background in structural mechanics, spatial geometry, and applied mathematics. Having recently completed my degree, I bring a fresh, relatable perspective to learning alongside an analytical mindset. My goal as a tutor is to help students demystify GCSE Maths, build lasting confidence, and achieve their full academic potential in a supportive, structured environment.
I teach because I genuinely believe that anyone can excel at mathematics when complex topics are explained clearly, visually, and without stress. Maths is often seen as intimidating, but my background in engineering allows me to break down abstract equations into more intuitive, real world concepts that make sense. Beyond mastering formulae and exam techniques, I focus on building my students’ self-belief and problem-solving resilience, giving them the tools to approach challenging questions with confidence!

I offer personalised 1-on-1 GCSE Maths tutoring (Foundation & Higher tiers, Years 9–11) for students aiming to build confidence, bridge learning gaps and secure top grades (7–9).
Rather than relying on memorisation alone, I break down complex algebraic, trigonometric, and geometric concepts using clear step-by-step diagrams, active problem-solving, and targeted exam technique to help students master mark schemes with ease!
Lessons are typically 60 minutes (ideal for weekly consistency) or 90 minutes (for more intensive past-paper revision), available online. Each structured session includes a quick concept check, interactive worked examples, and timed past-paper practice to track progress.
