About Desiree
Hey there, I'm Desiree!
I am entering my 9th year as an educator and I absolutely enjoy helping students achieve their "Ah ha"moments!
With recently completing 8 years in education and 7th year in lower grades, I have supported students in phonics and reading development as well as supporting students with reading comprehension skills.
Over the years, I have helped many students show growth in their reading skills and find a love for reading
I always tell my families that we all grow and learn differently and that there is a book out there for everyone.

Within my 7 years as a lower grades educator, I have worked to help students find success in their decoding skills by aiding with letter sound recognition and identifying word patterns.
I love to model expectations and have students repeat, try together and try learned skills out individually. I also included opportunities for movement breaks.
I have experience with the following programs: Foundations, Heggerty and recently completed the Science of Reading training.
