My Approach to Biology Tutoring & How I Teach My Classes As a current medical student, I have a strong academic foundation in biology — from cell biology and genetics to human physiology and biochemistry. My goal is to make biology clear, engaging, and easier to master, no matter your starting point. Teaching Methodology - Conceptual Clarity First: I focus on building a deep understanding of the core biological principles rather than just memorising facts. Once a student understands why something happens, it becomes much easier to remember. - Visual Learning: I regularly use diagrams, mind maps, and animations to break down complex topics like DNA replication, immune response, or photosynthesis. - Active Recall & Spaced Repetition: I guide students in using memory techniques (like flashcards or mini-quizzes) to reinforce what they’ve learned — especially helpful for exam revision. - Exam-Oriented Practice: I go through past paper questions and exam board mark schemes with students, so they learn how to structure answers and score maximum marks. ️ Lesson Length - Sessions are typically 1 hour, with the option to extend to 90 minutes for deeper topics or revision sessions. - Each lesson includes a: - Quick recap of previous content - Step-by-step breakdown of a new topic - Interactive questions or exam-style practice - Summary and mini-review at the end Qualifications & Experience I’m in my fourth year of medical school with top grades in GCSE and A-Level Biology and strong university-level biology training.
