About
Atwater Photo Camp, founded in 2018 in Los Angeles by photographers Greg Cohen and Alyson Aliano, offers photography camps and workshops led by working photographers. Based at 2930 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027, its core program is a 5-day, in-person summer Photo Camp for ages 8–15, running Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Enrollment is limited to 14 campers per week, tuition is $675, and cameras are available upon request.
Each day introduces a focused theme—light, color, mood, composition, landscape, or portraits. Campers review inspiring artwork, photograph around the neighborhood, take nature walks in Griffith Park, and visit galleries and museums such as The Broad, MOCA, and the Getty. Images are reviewed daily, and each session ends with a Friday exhibit where campers present their work to peers and families.
Beyond summer camp, Atwater Photo Camp provides workshops for teens and adults, including private sessions, Intro to Photography, Intro to Editing, and photo trips. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, constructive feedback, and skill-building that helps participants develop a confident, personal approach to making photographs.
