About Lily

I am an ambitious Neuroscience student hoping to advance into a career in research or lecturing in neuroimaging and development. I want to give students the best chance to ace exams that may determine their further education and/or career opportunities and help them to feel more confident and ambitious in academia. I strive for all my students to reach their own individual goals and make the biggest amount of improvement possible.

I am happy to teach from the beginning of the academic year or do intense exam technique focused workshops even in the weeks/months before exams.

I will focus on a student's most challenging topics and question types to ensure the greatest grade improvements. My regular lessons are typically 1-1.5 hours long. They consist of practice questions and walk-throughs of processes, theories and equations. I recommend higher intensity 1.5-2hr sessions in the lead up to important exams.
I will also place importance on, and support students with, implementing effective, individualised strategies to study and revise, that align with mark scheme structures. Additionally, I am capable advising neurodivergent students, particularly those with ADHD, and supporting their educational strategies outside of the classroom.

My aim is to ensure students feel comfortable with asking questions they may not want to ask in class; I will always be more than happy to help with their understanding. I may sometimes reference relevant out of spec content, which previous students have enjoyed and appreciated in aiding their understanding of concepts.
Furthermore, my relevant degree has provided me with further biological knowledge that allows me to greater explain questions that outline new scientific advancements and I can give a range of ideas for potential marking points in the essay question, for those doing A level AQA paper 3.
