For my lessons I like to use the I do, we do, you do method.
1. I will introduce the lesson and see what the student knows
2. I will teach the student the concept
3. We will do some work together
4. The student will try it on their own

Stevie was so good with my kids, she was so patient with them which is a really important trait for tutors. And she truly made a difference with kids they were a behind in their reading comprehension and now after some tutoring with Stevie they're now fully caught up on they're reading comprehension. And they are now on track to being ahead.
I think that you should give students praise for what they do. If they don’t do well on their work, let them know how they can improve. Make sure that they are confident in the work they are submitting, and if it does not look confident, let them redo or fix it.
