About Disha

I wish to support young people from any background. With the right guidance and confidence, I believe anyone can reach their ambitions, whether that is in medicine or other fields. As a third-year Medical student at the University of Cambridge, I am currently completing an intercalated bachelor’s degree in History and Philosophy of Science. I bring both academic verve and a love of learning to my teaching. Given my good grades in school, I’m eager to pass on the tips, strategies, and exam techniques that helped me succeed. I’ve worked closely with young people from many different backgrounds in my previous career efforts. That experience taught me patience and the importance of adapting my teaching to suit each student’s needs. I also know what it’s like to face academic challenges, which is why I’m receptive and understanding of any struggles that might get in the way of your success—and I’ll always do everything I can to support you. In the future, I hope to become a qualified doctor and work at the intersection of healthcare and humanitarian work. I also have a huge creative side, and I’m passionate about showing that you don’t have to sacrifice creativity to thrive in STEM. Above all, my goal as a tutor is to inspire confidence, make learning enjoyable, and help students realise that they’re capable of far more than they might think.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m a third-year Medical student at the University of Cambridge, and I aim to help students understand tricky topics, build confidence, and reach their full potential in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths! I achieved 3 A*s at A level, an A in Further Maths AS, and 11 grade 9s at GCSE, so I know exactly what it’s like to work towards top grades. I have experience tutoring GCSE students and spent a year working as a teaching assistant in a special needs school, which has given me a strong understanding of how to adapt lessons to different learning styles and make learning as clear and accessible as possible. My approach: - I closely follow the exam specifications, making sure every topic we cover is fully relevant to what you’ll be tested on. - I break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. - For Maths, I use a very practical, problem-solving approach—we work through questions and exam papers together to build confidence and strong exam technique. - I make sessions interactive, encouraging questions and discussion, so students feel supported every step of the way. - I focus not just on knowledge, but also on exam strategy to help you perform at your best on the day. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I can adjust this depending on what works best for you. I teach students aged 14–18 working towards their GCSEs or A levels.
