About Reuben
I am an engineering student at the University of Exeter, currently in my second year of study after going straight into further education from sixth form. I have been tutoring students of ages 10+ (up to 21 years old) online for over a year, in which time I have gained 15 reviews on the MyTutor platform, all with the maximum 5* rating. I studied up to GCSE level at Gillingham high school, where I achieved 5A* and 8A grades, with and A* and an A in further maths and statistics, both of which were predominantly self-taught. I then moved to Sherborne school for sixth form, leaving with 3As and a B with an A in my EPQ. In both schools I was involved in mentoring schemes which comprised largely of academic support for younger students. I believe the opportunity to have a young tutor, who has recently experienced these exams and knows exactly how demanding they are is something I wish I had known was available. Though I am not the most experienced tutor, I believe I can offer a different perspective to the average school teacher, and hope I will be able to help you achieve your goals and more.

I always offer to start the process with a short, free of charge call in order to break the ice, discuss what you need from your tutor and also, most importantly, give you the opportunity to decide if you think I am what you are looking for. If there are topics that you know you need help with, we will of course start by going through those, however if you are not sure what areas you need help with, or if you need a little bit of help with all, I will go through the topics as they are in the syllabus and ask you to do mini tests on each topic to see what we need to work on. My sessions will not be the same for each tutee, and for each person I hope to have found what works best for them after no more than a couple of sessions. This will allow me to tailor the sessions directly to the tutee, and provide the best possible support. I am also always open to feedback, if there is ever anything I am doing that you don’t find useful or anything you wish to do more of just let me know and that way I hope we can utilise our time as efficiently as possible.
