About Sera

I’m a dedicated and patient tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students grow in confidence. With three younger siblings currently at the 11+, GCSE, and A-Level stages, I’m very familiar with the demands of each level and how to support students of different ages. This experience has strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly, encourage progress, and adapt to individual learning styles. I also love using fun, memorable techniques such as creative acronyms, videos, and quick recall games to help students remember key points and feel more engaged in the learning process. I take pride in being reliable, well-prepared, and easy to communicate with. I love teaching, and I aim to create a positive environment where every student feels supported, motivated, and confident in their ability to improve.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on building confidence and clear understanding. I prepare each lesson to the student’s level and learning style, using a mix of guided reading, structured writing practice, model answers, and discussion to develop strong analytical language skills. For writing and speaking, I use practical exercises such as timed tasks and vocabulary work to build accuracy and fluency. Lessons are usually 60 minutes long, allowing time for teaching, practice, and feedback. I’m a 1st-year Law student in Belfast with top English grades: A in GCSE English Literature, A* in GCSE English Language, and A in A-Level English Literature. I also have experience tutoring KS2, KS3, and GCSE students online. My lessons are suited to KS2–GCSE learners, including those preparing for exams (11+, SEAG, Internal & External GCSE modules) or looking to improve reading, writing, or speaking skills.

All necessary learning resources will be provided and printed where needed. I am based in the BT31 9NY countryside area, so travel to places such as Belfast is a longer journey, but I am still happy to travel for home tutoring where needed :)
