About Emily
My name is Emily, and I am a 1st-year Biomedical Science student at Lancaster University. I am a kind and approachable tutor who enjoys helping others understand topics and build their confidence. I have 5 years of experience coaching gymnastics, working with children and young people of different ages and abilities, which has given me lots of experience adapting how I explain things to suit each individual.
I understand that everyone learns differently, so I aim to make lessons relaxed and supportive while finding the approaches that work best for each student. I am happy to work through topics students find difficult, help them prepare for upcoming exams or assessments, and provide extra practice to strengthen their understanding.

I offer lessons in KS3 Science and GCSE Chemistry and Biology.
I like to start by finding out which areas the student feels less confident with and then tailor lessons around these. I use clear explanations, diagrams, examples and practice questions to help students understand the content and apply their knowledge, rather than simply memorising information. I am also happy to work through exam questions and help students become more confident with answering them.
Lessons are usually 1 hour, although I am happy to discuss alternative timings depending on the student's age and needs.
My lessons are suitable for KS3 students and GCSE students studying Biology, Chemistry or Combined Science. I can offer lessons online or in person in Essex and Cambridgeshire during university holidays.
