About Samuel
As my parents are both English teachers, I grew up surrounded by books, and it was always made sure that I understood the value of literature, literacy, and education in general. Growing up from this background, teaching is something that comes quite naturally to me and is something that I find intensely rewarding. It is my aim as a teacher to instil as best I can the appreciation for English as a language and literature that I was afforded growing up.

I spent the first year and a half of my teaching career working with students with learning and behavioural differences, and this significantly informed the way that I approach my lessons. In my classes I not only work on developing the student's English abilities, but I also work on developing a positive relationship with education, in which the student has a greater sense of the rewards and enjoyment of learning, which they can then use as fuel to challenge themselves to grow even further.
My classes can be any length of time longer than half an hour. Anything longer than two hours would involve at least a five minute break every 55 minutes. I have about 4 years of experience teaching English literacy and English as a second language. I also have experience in teaching essay writing and English literature classes. Most of my experience is with children but I have also spent a lot of time working with adults. Whatever your needs when it comes to learning English I'm sure I can do something to help!
