About Daiki

Hello! I'm Daiki, a passionate Japanese language instructor with a deep appreciation for meaningful connections. Since childhood, my life has been shaped by diverse interactions, fostering a strong interest in language and communication. This journey led me from growing up in Japan to expanding my perspectives in Canada, where I aim to contribute positively to others. I truly believe that meeting new people helps us grow. This belief fueled my love for travel and led me to work for a travel agency in Japan for four years. My professional background also includes over 7 years in various customer-facing roles, including experience as an English tutor in Japan, where I honed my ability to understand and cater to individual needs. As a native Japanese speaker, I understand the nuances of language learning firsthand, having studied English and French I was currently working and studying languages in Montréal, QC, so I deeply understand the challenges and joys you might encounter! Beyond language, I have a wide range of hobbies, including anime, manga, movies, dramas, music, dance, travel, Disney, and Ghibli. I'm sure we'll find common ground to make our time together enjoyable! I'm truly looking forward to the wonderful encounters I'll have with you through Superprof. My Teaching Approach & What Makes Me Unique: My methodology is student-centered and communicative, focusing on practical application and cultural immersion. Personalized & Engaging: I tailor lessons to your needs, integrating Japanese culture to make learning meaningful. My past experience as an English tutor for 4 years in Japan honed my ability to adapt to individual needs. Empathy & Support: I'm known for clear communication, adaptability, and a passion for helping others succeed through education and personalized care. I foster inclusive learning environments and build strong rapport. My former colleague highlighted my "excellent listening skills" and "kindness." Diverse Experience: My background in customer service (including 4 years at H.I.S. Co., Ltd. and 2 years at PCDEPOT CORPORATION) means I excel at understanding your needs and providing attentive support. Who My Lessons Are For: I teach students of all ages and nationalities, both online and in-person. Beginners (JLPT N5/N4 equivalent): We'll master basic grammar using "GENKI" and my original materials. I currently focus on basic grammar. Intermediate+ Learners: If you have basic grammar down, our lessons will be conversation-focused based on your favorite themes! I'm passionate about anime, manga, movies, music, dance, travel, Disney, and Ghibli — we'll definitely find something fun to talk about! Lesson Details: Duration: Typically 60 minutes per lesson. Language of Instruction: Primarily Japanese for immersion, but I can use English or French for explanations if needed. Don't hesitate to ask questions in either language! Let's start your Japanese learning adventure together!
