to me
I originally booked a single session because I wanted to understand what hedge funds were actually looking for beyond the job description. I ended up continuing with Shahima because every conversation left me thinking differently. She doesn’t just teach finance—she teaches how people think, why organisations make the decisions they do, and how to approach problems from multiple perspectives.
What surprised me most was how psychologically aware she is. She quickly identified the gaps in my understanding, challenged my assumptions without making me feel judged, and adapted every explanation to how I naturally learn. Rather than giving generic advice, she asked questions that made me arrive at conclusions myself, which meant the learning actually stuck.
Her experience working alongside some of the world’s leading investment banks and hedge funds is obvious, but what makes her unique is her ability to explain the unwritten rules of high-performance environments. We discussed workplace psychology, communication, commercial thinking, perception, expectations, and what differentiates people who simply do their job from those who genuinely add value.
Shahima is refreshingly honest. If she doesn’t think something is the right approach, she’ll explain why and back it up with practical experience. She isn’t interested in telling you what you want to hear—she wants you to understand how to think critically and make better decisions for yourself.
She’s also incredibly creative in the way she explains complex ideas. Topics that initially felt overwhelming became surprisingly intuitive because she uses real-world examples, analogies, and thought experiments that make everything click. I left every session with pages of notes, a much clearer understanding, and greater confidence.
I genuinely felt supported throughout. She created an environment where I could ask questions without worrying about sounding inexperienced, and she seemed just as invested in my development as I was.
I initially booked one session. I chose to continue because I realised I wasn’t just learning about finance—I was learning how to think like someone who belongs in that environment. If you’re looking for someone who combines real industry experience with exceptional insight into psychology, communication, commercial awareness and personal development, I couldn’t recommend Shahima more highly.
Had a very informative first session with Shahima. Can't recommend it enough. Looking forward to the next session.
