About Pearlena
As the oldest sibling of nine, I have taught most of my life. I was a peer tutor from eighth grade through high school. Going professional after that, I taught in a GED program for adjudicated youth. They generally placed into the program reading at the third grade level and math at the fourth. Thirty days later on their next required state test, those students average grades were sixth grade reading, and eighth grade math. I then worked for an alternative school for five years spending most of that time in the room with autistic little ones.

I am a teacher by divine intervention who has had the great privilege to have taught every academic level from early childhood to adult education. Although my fundamental pedagogy is Christocentric, my lesson structure is unique to the need of each individual student. I have had notable success with my exceptional students learning through play.
